When Anne Marie lived in Germany in the 1980’s, she worked with an artisan, Gunther, who taught her the beauty of slab sculpting, which I do to this day.  Anne Marie started sculpting Santos out of stoneware about 20 years ago while working with an Old Town artisan in Albuquerque.  She made her first St. Francis for her father, who claimed the statue spoke to him.  Clay work started as a hobby and a meditation practice.
