” Since I was old enough to pick up a pencil, I have been drawing and painting.  In my Southwest scenes, I try to capture the essence that is New Mexico.  I see it in the adobe walls, the brightly colored painted doors and windows and the intense light and deep shadows.  Although the Southwest is my main subject matter, I have received commissions to paint everything from horses to trains, vintage cars and offshore oil rigs.  I like to paint pleinaire if possible, but use photography to capture time, mood and subject characteristics.”
