Darlene Ryer

In the Native tradition all of Darlene’s weaving is a prayer to the Creator. She uses traditional materials like Redbud, Red or Gray Willow, Sedge Roots, Buckbrush and Woodwardia Ferns as well as Basket Reed and Raffia to create her baskets which range in size from very tiny to large burden baskets. Sometimes her patterns are planned but mostly they are “what comes out of the end of (her) fingers.” Darlene’s weaving prayers ask for more beauty in the World and through her baskets her prayers are answered.
